PaintingPainter Hourly Rates in Australia (2026)
City-by-city painter rates, what pushes them up or down, and what a fair written quote should cover before you hire.
Our figures, and where they come from.
No invented precision. Ranges come from published Australian cost guides and official sources, and every page shows when it was last reviewed.
One model per project
Each calculator adjusts a published range by finish level, size and city. The city and size adjustments are approximate and labelled as such.
Checked against published data
Where we don't have a model, such as roofs, we summarise current Australian cost guides and say so.
Corrected when things change
Where a guide and a calculator cover the same job, we aim to use the same range, and we correct both when the sources change.
