AusRenoGuides is a small independent Australian operation focused on practical, no-fluff renovation cost guides and calculators. We’re based in Australia, write for Australian homeowners, and have no commercial relationship with tradie marketplaces, suppliers, or trade networks.
What we cover
- Bathrooms — renovation cost ranges, fixture selection, waterproofing and tiling requirements, layout considerations.
- Kitchens — cabinetry tiers, benchtops, appliances and layout-change costs, with material comparisons and realistic budget planning.
- Painting — interior, exterior and whole-house repainting at current Australian rates, with surface prep, ceiling height and access factored in.
- Flooring — timber, tile, vinyl, hybrid, laminate and carpet, with supply-versus-install breakdowns by material and city.
How we build our cost ranges
Our cost ranges are informed by publicly available Australian industry data and guidance:
- Published Australian industry sources — HIA, ABS, Master Builders Australia, and published cost guides from licensed renovators.
- Regional multipliers reflecting typical metro-versus-regional labour rate differences.
- Rolling review cycle. Each calculator and guide carries a ‘last reviewed’ date and is revisited as Australian market conditions shift.
We deliberately publish indicative ranges, not single-point prices, because real-world costs vary substantially with site condition, finish level, plumbing/structural changes, permits, and trade availability.
Independence
We don’t accept payment for product placements, brand recommendations, or favourable rankings. If we mention a product or brand, it’s because it’s commonly used in Australian renovations and relevant to the topic.
